Sign up to our Event: Building a Media Movement with Gypsies and Travellers

The Policing Bill that has passed into law seeks to stereotype and criminalise Gypsy and Traveller communities.

Media That Moves is a media research project finding out how we build a new narrative, as a GRT movement. Leeds GATE and London Gypsies and Travellers released our Media That Moves report in February this year. Now, to work towards how we create anti-racist representations of all Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people in the UK media, we need to work together.

Join our online workshop on 24th May from 10am-12pm to learn, discuss and align our goals. We’ll be running this with the Moving for Change network.

We’ll be discussing the project so far as organisations and community members and what the sectors needs and strengths are.

We want to discuss your learning from experiences with the media, share positive work what actions we can take next.

Speakers include Leeds GATE, London Gypsies and Travellers, Travellers Times, Moving for Change and more.

The event is free and open to all. But it’s a great opportunity to sign up to Moving for Change, to join the network improving lives of nomadic communities in the UK, and get access to more great events.
